Thomas Valeri
I spent my career on the operator's side of convenience and fuel retail before going independent — most recently as SVP of IT for a multi-unit retail organization, where I owned the systems that ran the business, not just advised on them.
Valeri & Company is me — deliberately. I'm not building a bench of account managers between you and the work; when you engage me, you get the person who ran a retail IT department and now brings that same judgment to a handful of operators at a time.
That background is specific to this industry. Convenience and fuel retail runs on a stack most generalist IT consultants have never touched in production: PDI Enterprise, Verifone Commander and Gilbarco Passport at the pump and register, Kalibrate and Gravitate for fuel pricing, and a long tail of forecourt, loyalty, and back-office integrations that all have to agree with each other. I've operated that stack from the inside, and I still write the SQL and the code myself when that's the fastest way to get it right.
I work with a small number of clients at a time — enterprise operators with an in-house team who need strategy and a second set of eyes, and smaller operators who need someone to fill the IT-director seat entirely. Both get the same thing: a partner who has actually run this function, not just consulted on it.
